Here’s the 2nd video (of 3) that I shot with Jon and the crew for Hisessions. An original entitled, “Familiar Strangers.”

“Where words fail, music speaks.” - Hans Christian Anderson

We’re midway through re-recording Familiar Strangers, an original tune of mine. Guitar leads/lead and background vocals will be going in over the course of the next couple of weeks. Mixing will happen shortly thereafter.

Good times.

What's the most important memory or experience you've expressed in song? — Asked by Anonymous

Familiar Strangers. That was the song that opened me up. It was the first song I had ever seriously written.

Familiar Strangers is one of the earliest songs I tried to record, with my good friend Cisco, and then eventually with my childhood buddy, Matt. The album version of it is radically different than what it was in its infancy. It’s growing up pretty fast as it goes through the recording/production process. There are a lot of lessons I learned (and am still learning) about song crafting, production, recording, etc.

So I guess you could say that the memories and experiences that were distilled through Familiar Strangers were the most important because they were the first to step out and see the light of day in song form.
